Phoenix Futures Wirral Residential Service have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain experience working in post treatment support for substance use.
Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Support Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to the people that use our services.
The Role
As a Sustainable Recovery Worker, you will provide ongoing aftercare support for the residents of Phoenix Futures across the English residential services. The role comprises of telephone support, move on preparation support while still in treatment both on site and remotely and group delivery. In addition, you will be engaging with other professionals and families to promote sustained recovery, supporting people who have moved on from our English Residential Services to reach their goals and change their lives for the better. The role is full time and 37.5 hours per week excluding a 30-minute lunch break each day. You will be part of a passionate and skilled team, contributing to the provision of tailored interventions and recovery approaches.
About You
To join us as a SUSTAINABLE RECOVERY WORKER at Wirral Residential Services you will need:
- Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of problematic substance use, mental health or another comparable fields
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service
- Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills
- To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understand complex issues presented by people moving on from residential treatment
- Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn
- Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support

The Service
Our English residential services span across four areas WIRRAL, DERBY, OXFORD and SHEFFIELD. While there will be occasions when you may be requires visiting all sites this job role will be based at our Wirral Residential Service. Our experienced team comprises of Therapeutic Workers, Recovery through Nature facilitators, Mental Health nursing staff and Counsellors, Phoenix Futures Housing provision and the Sustainable Recovery Team.
Wirral Residential Service has free off-road parking on site is a short drive to the M53 motorway and has Wirral and Liverpool bus routes on the doorstep.

Interview Process
We want you to feel comfortable to be your best during the interview process, so that you can get to know Phoenix and we can get to know you. If shortlisted, you will be contacted for a short face to face or digital interview via Microsoft Teams compromising of a small panel for approximately 60 minutes. All details will be provided in advance so that you can feel adequately prepared, and we can support you with reasonable adjustments as required.
