Opening in Winter 2024, we are seeking an exceptional individual to be part of our team at our  brand new Care Inspectorate registered residential rehabilitation service  in West Aberdeenshire.  You'll be supported by a charitable organisation with extensive experience in launching and managing top-tier registered care services.

As a Trainee Recovery Worker,  you will support the team to support individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme to achieve outcomes that help create long-term recovery. Using the Therapeutic Community “community as method” model you will empower individuals, families and communities to be confident about recovery.

You will support the day to day running of the therapeutic community, ensuring residents’ needs are met and the best possible care is provided in an environment that promotes a culture of recovery.

This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. You will be expected to work a rolling rota which includes evening and weekend working.

About You

To join us as a Trainee Recovery Worker at Rae House, you will need:

  • Have an understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within drug and alcohol recovery.  
  • An understanding of working with individuals in the substance use sector or related field.
  • Be willing to undertake an approved SVQ in Health and Social Care.
  • Be willing to attend and participate fully in Phoenix-run workshops and training sessions agreed as part of the SVQ programme and Phoenix induction programme
  • To work within the team responsible for the implementation, development and evaluation of the core therapeutic programme. 
  • To assist in the delivery of core groups, designed to appropriately support individuals to engage in the Primary and Senior stage of the programme. 
  • To help develop and run a range of therapeutic approaches designed to address the individuals’ emotional, social, health and practical needs.
  • To liaise and correspond with all necessary internal and external people in relation to progression of the individual through the programme.
