A passionate and skilled team provide tailored interventions to service users with differing needs in two prisons in Suffolk. These services are two of many of prison based services across England, therefore the new Service Manager will be able to share best practice and access support from our services within Phoenix Futures.

HMP Warren Hill

HMP Warren Hill is a unique prison and the only one of its kind in the country. It is a specialist progression regime for those who have been given a life sentence, an indeterminate sentence for public protection (IPP) or an extended determinate sentence. Warren Hill is an integrated site that promotes a culture of acceptance and tolerance. Phoenix Futures services are integral within this to support the unique population with progression through their sentence and recovery.

HMP Hollesley Bay

HMP Hollesley Bay is a Category D open prison housing adult men at the end of their sentences. For many, this is the last stop before release, as they reintegrate into the community. Phoenix Futures work here is focused on supporting the population to maintain recovery and prepare for future challenges. It is imperative we support people, so their care is seamless from the prison to the community.

The role

  • This role ensures the efficient delivery of two comprehensive prison services with emphasis on risk management and supporting continuity of care as prisoners are released to the community.
  • You will manage a multi-disciplinary team of Senior Practitioners, Administrator, Substance Use Practitioners and Family Worker providing support and leadership in all areas of delivery. 
  • You will ensure that service delivery is in line with recommended professional good practice and Phoenix Future’s processes and policies and practices and that the reasonable expectations of service users, commissioners and other stakeholder are met.
  • You will maintain a recovery-orientated approach to all undertakings and a demonstrable commitment to continued professional learning & development.

About you

  • Experience of delivering high quality services in association with partner agencies in the Prison or substance misuse sector
  • An understanding of the complex issues presented by men in custody
  • A desire to work in collaboration with healthcare and the prison service whilst adhering to security requirements
  • A passion for nurturing and developing your staff
  • The ability to contribute to the creative development of our treatment and recovery approach to meet the needs of our service users, our commissioners and stakeholders

Your rewards

  • Starting salary of £30,500, with opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal, meaning potential salary increase of up to £36,000
